Warner Music Chief Has Reality Check

Holy crap!!! The chief of Warner Music has publically come to his senses by admitting that not only did the music industry screw up royally when music initially hit the internet by not offering alternatives to piracy, but that Apple rocks. Now, if we can only get the music industry to act on this stuff.

The Bad Astronomer on

Dr. Phil Plait, aka the Bad Astronomer, writes (”Power to the People“) about a recent trip to see his local Representative (or their staff) to discuss a bill that he thought was not completely understood. It’s wording was loose enough to be susceptible to abuse.

This government is still by, for, and of the people. That’s us. Exercise your rights! I heard over the weekend that just a few letters to a state legislator swayed their vote on a proposal. It may be a little more difficult to do that on the national level, but it’s still possible. Go ahead: make a difference.

While it ends a little cheerleader-y, the post offers some good advice to those of us who’ve never met with our Representatives.

Jerry Sieve Workshop

Arizona Highways photographer Jerry Sieve (pronounced sih-vee) is holding a four hour Photography Workshop on December 8th. I think I’ll go, but I have to wonder just how much I’ll get out of only four hours. The good news is that it’s only $40. The workshop will be held at the McDowell Mountain Region Park at 2pm.

“This class is limited to 12 students; cost of the class is $40.00, The $40.00 fee includes your $6.00 park entry fee and a $34.00 donation that helps fund educational programming in the park. To register for the class and make your payment call (480) 471-0173.”
