And Speaking of Google

They’re all over the news this morning for something called OpenSocial.  Can Google change the social networking world, or will Facebook and MySpace crush them?

Google Reader Graduates From Labs

I love Google Reader for many, many reasons. Well, GR recently graduated from Google Labs making it an official Google app. All that is great.

The thing that’s bugging me is that I can’t reorganize the Google apps links you see at the top of the page in any other Google app you use. Looking at my Gmail screen right now, I see Gmail, Calendar, Documents, Photos, Groups, Web, and more, all as links to Google apps (with exception to more which provides a drop down to the other apps not listed here). The problem with that list is that I don’t use half of them, namely Photos, Groups, and Web. I primarily (and daily) use Gmail, Calendar, Documents, and Reader. I really wish I could change the order of these to fit my preferences. At the very least, I would think Google would give you the option to show you the apps you use most. The rest it could keep under “more”.

That’s my two cents. If this doesn’t make any sense to you, let me know.

Canon EOS 40D Review

DPReview posted their in depth review of the Canon EOS 40D (roughly the Nikon D200 equivalent).  They gave it a score of “Highly Recommended” and really didn’t find any significant flaws.  It looks like an excellent camera.  If I shot Canon, this is the camera I would get (it’s in the right price range).

Gmail + IMAP = Happy iPhone

According to the Download Squad, Google has added IMAP support to some Gmail users’ accounts.  That’s a good thing.  Read the official Gmail Blog for more information.
